The art collection holds suites of prints by Leonard Baskin, Jonathan Borofsky, Marc Chagall, Francesco Clemente, Jim Dine, Eric Fischl, Jasper Johns, Willem de Kooning, Ellsworth Kelly, Wopko Jensma, Ronald King, Jacob Lawrence, Henri Matisse, Larry Rivers, Ralph Steadman, Sean Scully, and James Turrell, among others. The subjects are varied. All of the editions are signed and many include poetic text. Highlights are Robert Motherwell's A La Pintura, Pablo Picasso's Suite Vollard, and various important works by Robert Rauschenberg, including his ground breaking "multiple" entitled Shades, prints from his Bellini Series, and a suite of prints created in collaboration with Russian poet Andrei Voynesensky.
The drawing collection includes a portrait of Jack Kerouac by Larry Rivers, drawings of Gerard Malanga by Andy Warhol, and juvenilia by Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, one of many important artists found in the Carlton Lake art collection.
