Linguistics
Among resources for the study of linguistics are the sixty-eight volumes written or owned by noted jurist, poet, and scholar of Oriental languages Sir William Jones (1746-1794). In addition, a collection of English-language dictionaries, ranging in date from 1658 to 1800, is here, as well as the library of dictionaries, grammars, and dialect studies belonging to linguist and translator of Danish texts, R. P. Keigwin (1886-1972), who was a leading expert on the works of Hans Christian Andersen.
