Janet Roberts
Austin, TX
Janet Roberts's professional career as sales and marketing director for several properties across the state of Texas allowed her the opportunity to take part in the opening of the Four Seasons Hotel in San Antonio, as well as La Maison in Austin (now the Doubletree Hotel). Before leaving the industry in the mid-1980s, she was involved with the initial efforts to revitalize and renovate the old Stephen F. Austin Hotel in downtown Austin.
Roberts was born in Peru, where she attended both the English Girls' School and the American School in Lima. After graduation, she moved with her family to San Antonio, attended San Antonio College, and later transferred to Bay Path College in Longmeadow, Massachusetts, where she earned her degree. She is currently active in the Pan-American Roundtable, and has chaired several major fundraising efforts for various charitable organizations in and around Austin. Roberts's main interests now are her Arabian show horses, several of which are National Champions in both the United States and Canada. Janet Roberts and her husband, Jack, have lived in Austin since their marriage in 1982.
