Dr. Paul Roach

Dr. Paul Roach was born in Kansas City, Missouri, in 1958. He graduated from Rockhurst High School in 1976 and then attended Saint Louis University, St. Louis, MO, receiving a B.A., summa cum laude, in 1980. He received his medical degree from Northwestern University Medical School, Chicago, IL, in 1984. His internship and residency in Internal Medicine was served at the University of Iowa, Iowa City, IA, from 1984 to 1987, followed by a fellowship in medical informatics at New England Medical Center, Boston, MA, from 1987 to 1988. He then returned to the University of Iowa to serve as Chief Resident in Internal Medicine (1988) and as cardiology fellow (1988 to 1992). He has been in practice in Austin, Texas, since 1992 and is currently a partner in Texas Cardiovascular, P.A.
He served as the President of the Austin Chapter of the American Heart Association, as the Chief of Staff at Brackenridge Hospital, and as President of the medical staff of the Seton Family of Hospitals.
Dr. Roach has been married to his wife, Elaine Demetrion, for 21 years. They have two sons, Max and Nicholas, who attend Austin High School. Both he and his wife share an interest in contemporary art. For the past 20 years they have collected contemporary art, primarily works on paper (drawings, prints, mixed media, and photography). These works include both representation and abstract art.
