Dawn Black is a native of Tulsa, Oklahoma. After graduating from the University of Oklahoma, Black started her career as a Marketing Director for the Ice Capades during the time of Dorothy Hamill and Scott Hamilton. She created marketing and advertising campaigns in more than 50 U.S. markets.
Black later formed her own film and marketing company, Black Dog Productions, and represented several directors from Los Angeles. She went on to create, produce, and syndicate the award-winning home-improvement television series, Our House. The series featured energy efficient and environmentally sensible home improvement projects.
Black is an Inc. Magazine Entrepreneur of the Year Award recipient. She has served as an independent marketing consultant for organizations such as Continental Airlines and Fine Art Connoisseur.
Black has been involved with many Austin charitable organizations, including Ballet Austin, Seton Children's Council, Inherit Austin, Probe Center, Young Life, ABBA, SafePlace, and National Charity League.
Black is an art car artist, antique enthusiast, floundering tennis player, and shoe expert. She and her husband, Dusty, have two wonderful children.
