Janet Roberts

Janet Roberts's professional career as sales and marketing director for several properties across the state of Texas allowed her the opportunity to take part in the opening of the Four Seasons Hotel in San Antonio, as well as La Mansion in Austin (now the Doubletree Hotel). Before leaving the industry in the mid-1980s, she was involved with the renovation and restoration of the old Stephen F. Austin Hotel in downtown Austin, now the Hotel Intercontinental.
Roberts was born in Peru, where she attended both the English Girls' School and the American School in Lima. After graduation, she moved with her family to San Antonio where she attended San Antonio College. Later she transferred to Bay Path College in Longmeadow, Massachusetts, where she earned her degree in liberal arts. She is currently active in the Pan-American Roundtable, and has chaired several major fundraising efforts for various charitable organizations in and around Austin. Roberts's main interests now are her Arabian show horses, several of which are multi-national champions in both the United States and Canada. Janet Roberts and her husband, Jack, are avid fly fishers and frequent the rivers of the northwestern United States as well as the Patagonia region of Chile to pursue their hobby.
Janet and Jack Roberts have lived in Austin since their marriage in 1982.
