Jay Moore has been involved in land development in Texas for over 30 years. He founded Canyonlands in 1992 which develops land for residential and commercial use in Houston and Harris County. Jay began his career at Hines in Houston, Texas and subsequently owned Aquarena Springs Resort in San Marcos, which was sold to Texas State University in 1994.
Jay currently serves on the Advisory Board of Texas Capital Bank. Past board service includes: The Herman Park Conservancy, The Guadalupe-Blanco River Authority, the Blaffer Gallery at the University of Houston, Palmer Episcopal Church, Houston, The Bayou City Breakfast Club and The Central Texas Center for Teacher Renewal, Austin.
Jay was born in Kerrville, grew up in San Marcos, and has been a Houstonian since 1980. He received an MBA from Southern Methodist University, Dallas, Texas and a BBA from Austin College, Sherman, Texas, including study in Vienna, Austria.
He divides his time between Houston and Lake Austin.
