BECOME A MEMBER NOW TO ATTEND "LOVE AND WAR"
Friday, February 14, 2014, 7–9 P.M.
Join us for "Love & War" to celebrate the spring exhibition, "The World at War, 1914–1918."
Get a first look at the exhibition, which draws from the Ransom Center's extensive collections to illuminate the experience of the war from the point of view of its participants and observers, preserved through letters, drafts, and diaries; memoirs and novels; and photographs and propaganda posters.
Pose with your date in the photo booth and keep warm with coffee and doughnuts from Wright Bros. Brew & Brew, offering a modern take on the war-time "Doughnuts for Doughboys" campaign. Enjoy hors d'oeuvres with an international flair, wine from Austin Wine Merchant, and signature cocktails courtesy of Dripping Springs Vodka and Ranger Creek Brewing & Distilling. Guests can enter to win an exclusive prize package that includes a stay at Hotel Havana, handcrafted chocolates from the Chocolate Makers Studio, a date night at Henri's, and tickets to War Horse, among other delights. Austin Phonograph Company will be hand-cranking phonographs with music from the era.
Ransom Center members enjoy complimentary admission and valet parking at this event on Friday, February 14 at 7 p.m. If you are not yet a member, tickets are available for $20 (valet parking is not included for non-members).
