"Face to Face" Opening Celebration

At the opening party to celebrate the Harry Ransom Center's exhibition Arnold Newman: Masterclass members and guests enjoyed a first look at the exhibition, an Arnold Newman-inspired analog photo booth created by the Lomography Gallery Store and Lindsay Hutchens, screenings of Arnold Newman interviews, and beverages from Austin Wine Merchant and Dripping Springs Texas Vodka.

New and upgraded members enjoyed a special evening of insider access to the Harry Ransom Center with sneak previews of the 2013 spring/summer exhibitions and presentations about Norman Bel Geddes's life and work.

Cathy Henderson, Associate Director of Exhibitions, and James Stroud, Associate Director for Conservation and Building Management, led an exclusive tour of the building's restricted areas, including collection storage and the cataloging, technology, and conservation departments.

At the opening party to celebrate the Harry Ransom Center's exhibition I Have Seen the Future: Norman Bel Geddes Designs America, members and guests enjoyed a Design Within Reach outdoor lounge, an interactive "City of the Future" by Toy Joy, ice cream sandwiches from Coolhaus, and beverages from Austin Wine Merchant and Dripping Springs Texas Vodka.
