Isaac Bashevis Singer's typewriter

Since February 20, the Frida Kahlo paintings Self-Portrait with Thorn Necklace and Hummingbird and Still Life with Parrot and Fruit have been at the Philadelphia Museum of Art for the traveling exhibition Frida Kahlo. They are due to return to the Ransom Center in September 2008, after a stop at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art from June 11 to September 16.

One of the Isaac Bashevis Singer typewriters was at the Nobel Museum in Stockholm, Sweden, for six years for the exhibition "Cultures of Creativity: Individuals and Milieus. The Centennial Exhibition of the Nobel Prizes 1901-2001." The typewriter returned to the Ransom Center in January.

Four pages from John Steinbeck's Grapes of Wrath journal and four pages from his manuscript for East of Eden are on loan to The California Museum for History, Women and the Arts in Sacramento, California, for a California Hall of Fame presentation that includes John Steinbeck and runs through October 31. The items are due to return to the Ransom Center in May 2008.
