David Douglas Duncan

A photograph of a thick gold ring set with a small stone, on which is etched a rooster.

Ring (side view) given by David Douglas Duncan to Pablo Picasso on their first meeting on February 8th, 1956. Duncan had the ring made by Bulgari for the occasion. The ring is gold, set with a 1st century A.D. carnelian etched with a rooster, the inside of the ring is stamped: Duncan - Picasso.
