18 November 1974A leading figure in the Republican party, Senator Barry Goldwater of Arizona, provided Woodward and Bernstein with his personal thoughts on Nixon and behind the scenes accounts of Nixon and other Republican leaders. On page two of the interview Goldwater states that Nixon once suggested to New York Senator Jim Buckley, William F. Buckley, Jr.'s brother, that he stage a demonstration in order to fake an injury.
