The Woodward and Bernstein Waterate Papers

The Final Days

Jaworski interview notes

1974

In researching The Final Days, Woodward and Bernstein were able to schedule long, detailed interviews with key figures from the Nixon administration. Using the same methodology they used while reporting Watergate for The Washington Post, they corroborated information from one source with one or more other sources. In notes from interviews with Watergate special prosecutor Leon Jaworski and Nixon special counsel James St. Clair, each man provides his recollection of a May 5, 1974 meeting when Jaworski informed St. Clair that Nixon had been named an unindicted co-conspirator by the Watergate grand jury.
