Center Launches Membership Group
Last spring, as the new galleries and research spaces were unveiled to the public, the Harry Ransom Humanities Research Center embarked on an exciting new initiative. For the first time, we established a membership group for our supporters. Funds raised from the Center's membership group provide critical support to enhance our collections, exhibitions, public outreach, and educational programs. We welcomed our 400 charter members with a grand opening celebration on April 14.
Joining the Ransom Center's Membership Group allows individuals and families to become a part of one of Texas's premiere cultural institutions. Special access to the Center's world renowned collections and exclusive membership programs-including lectures by writers, photographers, artists, and collectors, along with special exhibition previews and excursions to cities around the world-allow our members to experience even more of the Ransom Center.
Memberships are available to students at a reduced rate, and the levels of giving and the associated benefits increase by joining at a higher level.
We will have a special "members only" preview of Make It New: The Rise of Modernism, an exhibition opening in October. Other membership events planned for the fall include a special performance by the Broadway actor Laurence Luckinbill of materials written by Ernest Hemingway. An exciting slate of membership programs is planned for spring 2004 as well.
