Docent Profile: Barbara Grove
Barbara Grove is familiar to many Austinites, especially those in the hospitality industry. Until she retired last year, Barbara served as director of the Visitor Center at the Austin Convention and Visitors Bureau (ACVB). Anyone with questions about where to go, what to do, and when to do it could rely on Barbara to be an unerring and astute source of information on all things Austin.
Barbara's commitment to the community is evident in her continuing dedication to volunteerism, whether through her work at the ACVB, with organizations that reflect her long involvement with jazz and classical music, or as an adjunct liaison for the Ransom Center.
Barbara is also one of the Ransom Center's most reliable and capable docents. She volunteers at the Center between noon and 2 p.m. every Wednesday, gracing visitors with her charm and acuity. Please visit Barbara and thank her for her help and generosity.
