Jacobo Bergareche

Madrid, Spain


Jacobo Bergareche Mendoza was born in London to a family of newspaper publishers. He studied Fine Arts at Universidad Complutense de Madrid and graduated from Emerson College where he studied Writing, Literature, and Publishing. He worked as a screenwriter for the sitcom Casi Perfectos (Antena 3) and the action comedy Los Simuladores (Cuatro TV). On site in Iran, he produced and shot the documentary Iran Uncovered (TVE24h). He has created, written and produced the fiction show Plan America (TV1), HKM (Cuatro), Karabudjan (Antena 3), and Los 33 de Atacama (Antena 3). In 2011, he founded Wake App, a mobile content production company where he produced a number of apps, including n by Jorge Drexler, an interactive-song album by Academy Award winner Jorge Drexler, and a finalist for the 2013 SXSW Interactive Award.

He currently lives in Madrid where he is developing a children's cartoon show, Adventures in Bodytown, an adaptation of a book collection he wrote for Penguin Random House books in Spain.
