A parade of thousands of people marching through the Kremlin complex.

"[One of] the greatest celebrations in Russia today [takes] place on 7 November, to commemorate the 1917 October Revolution (25 October in the Julian calendar; 7 November in the Gregorian calendar, which was adopted after the Revolution) . . . Marchers assemble from factories, schools, military units, sports organizations, hospitals, farms and private homes to funnel into the canyon between the State Historical Museum with its long line of soldiers, and the turreted walls of the Kremlin. [Moscow, 1956 or 1958.]" The Kremlin, p. 169.
