Ransom Center Hosts Discussion with Playwright Tony Kushner

EVENT: In conjunction with the exhibition "Rehearsing the American Dream: Arthur Miller's Theater," the Harry Ransom Center presents a discussion with Tony Kushner, a Pulitzer Prize- and Tony Award-winning playwright, and Steven Dietz, professor of theater at The University of Texas at Austin, about the legacy of American playwright Arthur Miller. The event is free, but tickets are required.

WHEN: 7 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 18.

WHERE: Jessen Auditorium on The University of Texas at Austin campus.

BACKGROUND: Kushner is best known for his two-part epic, "Angels In America: A Gay Fantasia On National Themes." His other plays include "A Bright Room Called Day," "Slavs!," "Hydriotaphia," "Homebody/Kabul" and "Caroline, or Change," among others. Kushner has received numerous awards, including a Pulitzer Prize for Drama, an Emmy Award, two Tony Awards, three Obie Awards and an Oscar nomination.

A book signing follows.

The event is free, but tickets are required.
