All gifts, in all forms, are important to the Ransom Center. Whether you make a gift of cash, stock, or another asset, you can direct your gift to any area of the Center that is of particular interest to you. This section provides you with information about the many ways you can give to the Harry Ransom Center. Please use our secure online giving page if you would like to make a gift now.

Cash, Checks, Credit Cards

Outright donations made by cash, check, or credit card are the easiest to make. They are also tax deductible in the year they are given. The University of Texas at Austin also gratefully accepts pledges—i.e., gifts that are paid over time. You can make a pledge commitment and set up a payment schedule that works best for you. You may also designate your gift in honor of or in memory of someone special to you.

To make a gift by credit card, you can use our secure online giving page, or call 512-232-3668 and provide your credit card information over the phone.

Gifts of Stock

Gifts of appreciated securities and closely held stock can be extremely beneficial—both to you and to the Ransom Center. You may receive an income-tax deduction equal to the fair market value of the securities and reduce or eliminate capital gains taxes. Gifts of stock and mutual funds are coordinated by The University of Texas System Office of Development and Gift Planning Services. Proceeds from the sale of these assets are directed to any program you wish. Please contact Charlotte Hambrick, The University of Texas System, at 512-499-4346 or Amy Kristofoletti, Ransom Center, at 512-232-3668 for more information.

When you create an endowment, you can honor someone important to you while providing permanent support to the Ransom Center. The money is invested, and each year a distribution is made from the endowment to support the program or area of your choice. Learn More
