Ransom Center Receives Publications Design Awards

The Harry Ransom Humanities Research Center at The University of Texas at Austin has received two design awards in the 2005 American Association of Museums' (AAM) Museum Publication Design Competition.

The Ransom Center earned honorable mentions for the invitation design to the 2004 fall exhibition opening of "Miguel Covarrubias: A Certain Clairvoyance" and for the CD-ROM edition of the Gutenberg Bible. Leslie Ernst, graphic designer with the university's Office of Public Affairs, created the exhibition invitation, and Tocquigny Advertising developed the design for the Gutenberg CD-ROM.

The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston and the El Paso Museum of Art were the only other Texas institutions to be honored for publications design by AAM. Judged by museum professionals, publishers and designers, the competition recognizes excellence in overall design.
