Poets Dara Wier and James Tate To Speak at the Harry Ransom Center

EVENT: Celebrated poets Dara Wier and James Tate, whose archives are housed at the Ransom Center, will visit the Ransom Center for a poetry reading.

WHEN: Thursday, Nov. 8, at 7 p.m. Doors open 30 minutes prior to event.

WHERE: The Harry Ransom Center is on the corner of 21st and Guadalupe streets on The University of Texas at Austin campus.

BACKGROUND: The Ransom Center recently acquired materials related to the life and career of writer and poet Dara Wier. The archive contains manuscript material related to longtime companion and collaborator James Tate, whose papers already reside at the Ransom Center. Tate won the Pulitzer Prize for poetry for "Selected Poems" in 1992.

Seating is free, but limited.
